To grow quality seedlings in partnership with the forest industry to establish future forests.
In March 1985, Woodmere Nursery planted its first seed. The company was successful in its bid to grow 2.5 million containerized reforestation seedlings for the British Columbia Ministry of Forests. Construction of 57,680 sq. ft. of greenhouses and a header building started in September of 1984.
Today, Woodmere Nursery grows 12.5 million seedlings in 6 acres of greenhouses in the Telkwa location. In 1995 Woodmere expanded to northwestern Alberta. A further 6 million seedlings are grown annually in 5 acres of greenhouses at Fairview.
Woodmere Nursery specializes in the production of Lodgepole Pine, White Spruce, Black Spruce, Subalpine Fir, Western Hemlock, Western Red Cedar, Siberian Larch, Pacific Silver Fir, Douglas Fir, Mountain Hemlock, Alder, Aspen and Yellow Cedar.
